The Sochi Art Museum is located in the central area of the resort town. This museum is the successor to the Exhibition Hall of Fine Arts of the city of Sochi, founded in 1971

The museum is located in one of the most beautiful city buildings, which is an architectural monument of the 1930s. This building was erected in 1936 as the administrative center of the Commissioner of the USSR Central Executive Committee. The author of this project was the academician of architecture I.V. Zholtovsky.

Today the museum covers an area of 0.67 hectares. The museum has about 5054 exhibits, which include almost all the most famous genres and types of fine arts.
