The Museum of Sculpture by I. Pinzel has found its place in the list of Lviv attractions. The museum is housed in the building of the former Clarice convent, designed by the architect Pavel the Roman. Since the late 70s, the museum has acted as an exhibition hall for contemporary art.

In the 60s and 70s of the last century, museum workers made many expeditions, which resulted in a collection of baroque sculptures. In the years when the huge cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people was sentenced to extermination, the museum staff saved about two thousand works of art from certain death. The Museum of Baroque Sacred Sculpture by Johann Pinzel preserves that part of the legacy of the renowned master that managed to survive.

Sculptor Johann Pinzel, remote from the generally recognized centers of culture and capitals, he became the creator of the original plastic in the world art of that era. In the late 50s of the 18th century, Pinzel created a sculptural ensemble in the Lviv Cathedral of St. Yura, worked in the Church of St. Martin.
