Photo and description

The main attraction of Lanzarote is the Cueva de los Verdos cave. It is located in the north of the island under the lava fields of the Korona volcano. This is the largest lava cave in the world - it stretches for 6 kilometers, some of its halls are 24 meters wide and 15 meters high. The cavern was formed when a river of molten basalt from the lateral crater of the Corona continued to flow under the cooled and solidified layer of lava down into the sea. This is how a natural tunnel with bizarre shapes of walls and arches turned out. A concert hall has been created in one of the cave halls.
