Photo and description

Among Catholics, one of the most revered saints, as well as one of the most beloved, is St. Anthony of Padua, who lived in the 13th century. His path in life was marked by sincere and genuine humility and meekness. Saint Anthony of Padua is reputed to be a miracle worker and a great preacher. He was canonized a year after his death. Lisbon is the birthplace of Saint Anthony, but he spent many years in Italy and ended his life in Padua. On Italian soil, more than one temple has been built in his honor. In the city of Tivat, at the time when power belonged to the Venetians, one of these temples was erected.

The building of the temple, built in the 18th century (its first third) in the Tripovici region (city center), is located on a hill. The building itself, together with the cobbled courtyard and the zupa building, are a whole architectural complex. From here you can see the Bay of Kotor, or rather its western part. Church of st. Anthony of Padua is one of the most visited in Tivat.

The Church of St. Anthony is a vivid example of medieval Baroque architecture. You should definitely admire the rich facade of the church and the images of Saints Peter and Paul by Francesco, an Italian artist. The temple has two altars: main and auxiliary. The auxiliary altar was consecrated in honor of the Virgin Mary.
