Noel Kempff Mercado National Park is the pride and heritage of the entire Amazon Basin. It is located in the northeastern part of the country. In terms of area, it is one of the largest in the world - 1.5 million hectares. Of course, such a vast territory is represented by several ecosystems. These are wooded savannas, and mountain, evergreen, Amazonian forests. The richest flora and fauna of the tropics, wooded savannas, rocky cliffs and waterfalls will not leave anyone indifferent. Scientists have calculated that the geological age of this area is more than a billion years. On the territory of the Noel-Kempff-Mercado park, about 4000 plant species grow, 130 species of mammals live, there are 620 species of birds, 70 reptiles and many other animals. Many species and populations are noted that are considered rare, and are on the verge of extinction.

The park was named after the famous professor Noel Kempff Mercado, who devoted his entire life to studying wildlife and researching the history of the reserve. In 2000, the national park was declared a World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
