The Butrimovich Palace was founded on September 9, 1784. The solemn ceremony of laying the first stone was attended by King Stanislav August Poniatowski himself. The palace was built according to the project of the architect K. Schildhaus for the next 10 years. It was built in a mixture of classicism and baroque styles.

The first owner of the palace was a prominent public and political figure of Polesie Mateusz Butrimovich. He was a true patriot of his native land, took an active part in the reclamation of swamps and the construction of canals, which made Pinsk an international port. In the spring of 1784, Mateusz Butrimovich equipped the “Polissya flotilla”, which sailed through Warsaw to Europe to present the goods of his native woodland there.

Subsequently, the Butrimovichi palace was owned by three eminent Polesie families: Butrimovichi, Hordes and Skirmunta. Among them were talented sculptors, painters, writers and historians. In the 19th century, the famous artist, musician, teacher and composer Napoleon Orda lived and worked here. The last mistress of the palace was Constance Skirmunt, who managed to transfer the paintings of Napoleon Orda to the Krakow Museum, which saved the paintings from destruction during the great fire that happened in the palace in 1901.

In Soviet times, the palace was given to the needs of Pinskiy Houses of pioneers and a children's cinema.

In 2009, large restoration work was carried out in the Butrimovich Palace. Currently, the wedding palace has opened here. Now the newlyweds of Pinsk can be legally married in the romantic interiors of a real palace of Polissya nobles.
