The Museum of the 1000th Anniversary of Kazan is located in the city center, not far from Svoboda Square, on the bank of the Kazanka River. In 2005, in the building of the National Cultural Center "Kazan", to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the city, the Museum of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan was opened. It is located in three rooms and covers an area of 2600 sq. m.

As a result of Russian and Kazan expeditions, a large collection of items of ancient heritage has been collected. The first hall houses a rich collection dedicated to ancient Kazan. It is an exhibition covering the period from the first millennium to the 15th century AD. The exposition of the museum contains original exhibits and recreated ones, lost before. Among the many exhibits, the city's Kazan Gate stands out. They were a symbol of independence. The key of the city was made in the Bulgarian traditions.
