Photo and description

1987 is the year of the opening of the Marble Cave. It is located in limestone rocks of the marble type, hence its name. The entrance to the cave is located at an altitude of nine hundred and eighteen meters above sea level.

The Marble Cave stands out among other Crimean caves. It ranks first in terms of its area, length and volume of internal space. Currently, the length of excursion routes in the cave reaches one and a half kilometers. During this path you can walk and see the most impressive galleries of the cave. If you add up all its moves, then the total will be more than two kilometers. This is the total length of the cave. Every year, about a hundred thousand tourists come here for an excursion.

Three main parts are included in the cave: The main gallery (quite straight, its length is seven hundred twenty-five meters), the Lower Gallery (ornate, length - nine hundred and sixty meters), Tiger Pass (lateral branch of the cave, length - three hundred and ninety meters).

The club of speleologists in Simferopol guards the cave. Many cases of plundering of unguarded caves are known, therefore, immediately after the discovery, cavers established control over it in order to avoid this sad fate and preserve the amazing dripstone formations. For several years, the cave was equipped with works, and in 1989 the cave was ready for visiting. If you go through the very first route, it was very short (only one hundred and eighty meters).

First, they arranged a Gallery of Fairy Tales, this was the first stage of the cave equipment. This is due to the fact that the Gallery of Fairy Tales is located close to the entrance to the cave. Then we proceeded to the device of the Tiger Run. A special tunnel was created, horizontal and comfortable. Equipped excursion paths were laid along it.

Gradually, the interest in the cave among tourists became more and more. Therefore, the speleologists began to equip the Perestroika Hall, which was a very difficult task, since the entire hall was cluttered with huge boulders.

The excursion routes through the cave underwent a complete change in 1997. In the future, it is planned to make excursions to the Lower Galleries of the cave. This will require special caving equipment. It goes without saying that this excursion will be both more expensive in cost and brighter in terms of impressions. It is most interesting for fans of extreme experiences, for tourists seeking to find themselves in such places, where few have passed before them.
