Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe Goshevsky monastery of the Sisters of the Holy Family is located in Ivano-Frankivsk region, south of the outskirts of the village of Goshev, not far from the monastery of the Basilian Fathers. The Greek Catholic the nunnery of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was founded in 1911 and the activities of the community are aimed at charity, educational work. The first abbess of the monastery was Sister Teresa-Teklya Juzefov. In 1950, the Soviet government banned the activities of the community, the sisters were exiled to camps, and the building was converted into a hospital for the mentally ill (the hospital is still functioning here). The community began to revive in 1989, when not far from Yasnaya Gora a new monastery was built. The main building of the monastery is a two-storey building with a basement. At the main entrance there is a chapel with a tent-roofed octahedral roof and a semi-covered inner courtyard. The ground floor is occupied by a refectory, a library, cells and technical rooms. Also, cells are located on the second floor, a chapel and other auxiliary premises. As at the beginning of its existence, the community is now engaged in charity work. Basically, the sisters do not live in the monastery, but are engaged in catechesis and the upbringing of children, adolescents and orphans, serve in medical institutions, schools, make missionary trips to the Baltic countries and Belarus.
