The Museum of Modern Arts is a Sydney museum that collects contemporary art from Australia and other countries of the world. It is housed in an Art Deco building of the former Maritime Radio Service at the western end of the Circular Quay. It is the youngest cultural institution in Sydney.

The Museum of Modern Art was founded as part of the bequest of the Australian expatriate artist John Power (1881-1943), who donated his entire fortune to the University of Sydney to organize educational programs that introduced would be Australians with contemporary visual arts.

After the Maritime Radiocommunication Service moved to new premises in 1989, The empty building was transferred by the government of New South Wales to the Museum of Modern Art. In 1990, large-scale restoration work began, sponsored by the University of Sydney and the Power Foundation, and a year later, the museum was officially opened to the public.

Today, the 4 floors of this impressive building, facing Sydney Harbor, are several galleries dedicated to contemporary art from the 1970s to the present day.
