The title in English is Schloss Fuschl. Photo and descriptionFuschl Castle is a medieval castle located on the western coast of Lake Fuschl near the city of Salzburg. The castle was built in the 15th century in the Renaissance style as the hunting residence of Archbishop Siegmund I (1452-1461) and Cardinal Burkhard. The residence has an excellent location, the castle tower rises above the forest, however, it is completely invisible from afar. Currently, the Fuschl castle houses the five-star Sheraton hotel. In 1938, when Austria was captured by Nazi Germany, the castle was appropriated by the Foreign Minister of the Third Reich Ribbentrop, sending the former owner to a concentration camp. Since the residence of Hitler was located near the Fuschl castle, secret meetings of the heads of the Reich were held here several times. After the end of World War II, former Foreign Minister Ribbentrop was convicted by the Nuremberg tribunal and hanged. After just 6 years, a hotel was opened in the castle. In 1957, the film `` Sisi '' was filmed in the castle with Romy Schneider. The building is currently an architectural monument. In 2005-2006, the castle was overhauled, the costs amounted to about 30 million euros.
