Photo and description

The Borisoglebskaya Church is a temple built on the site of an ancient church of the princely times. The church was rebuilt in 1989 according to the project of the archbishop of Cherkasy and Kanev Sophrony. The majestic view of the temple makes an indelible impression on its visitors. Its architecture captivates with its sophistication and simplicity at the same time. The interior of the church is made in the best traditions of the style. The church belongs to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The church is dedicated to saints Boris and Gleb, the great Russian dukes, the sons of the Kiev prince Vladimir Svyatoslavich. They were killed by their elder brother Svyatopolk, and became the first Russian saints to be canonized as martyrs-martyrs. Since then, the brothers-martyrs have been considered the defenders of the Russian land. It is also interesting that initially Boris and Gleb were revered as miracle-working healers. There are many cases of miraculous healings that took place near their tomb. The brothers were also considered assistants to all Russian princes. Many temples and churches were built in their honor, which to this day are religious centers and architectural landmarks in their regions.

Today the Borisoglebskaya church in Borispol is active and many visitors come here for spiritual healing.
