Photo and descriptionThe main park of Tiraspol is the Victory Park of Culture and Leisure, which is not at all surprising, since it is here that most of the locals generally like to relax. Famous architect A.V. Shchusev, who visited Tiraspol after the end of the Great Patriotic War. The Tiraspol Park was founded in 1947 on the site of a previously located fruit and berry garden. The park, with a total area of about 15 hectares, was named in honor of the victory over the German invaders in the Great Patriotic War. In 1960, in the very center of the park, a monument to G. Kotovsky was erected. The author of this work was the sculptor L. Dubinovsky. In 1968, several attractions began to operate in the park, and in 1987 a fountain was installed here. In 2000 the building of the Summer Stage was put into operation. Initially, the Pobeda Park was a suburban recreation area for local residents, but due to the rapid growth of the city, the Tiraspol Park ended up on the border between the Oktyabrsky residential area and the Central District of the city. Among the townspeople, the Victory Park of Culture and Leisure is considered an excellent place for recreation, as well as a permanent venue for various cultural events. There is a cozy cafe with beautiful terraces and many entertainment attractions. The very first amusement ride in the park - "Air Carousel" - was installed in 1968, but despite this, it is successfully operating to this day.
