Memorial house-museum of academician S.P. Koroleva description and photo - Russia - Moscow: Moscow. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe memorial house-museum of academician S. P. Korolyov is located in Ostankinsky lane, next to the All-Russian Exhibition Center. This is a small two-story mansion with a garden. Sergey Pavlovich Korolev lived and worked here from 1959 to 1966 - a man whose name is closely connected with the development of practical astronautics, the chief designer of space rockets and an academician. The Memorial Museum was opened in 1975. The first visitors entered it on the 1st of August. The organizers of the museum carefully preserved everything as it was during the life of the Queen. In the closet on the first floor hangs the coat in which he left here in January 1966 to the hospital. The bronze sculpture "To the Stars" by the sculptor Postnikov adorns the hall. It bears the autographs of astronauts who have been in space during the lifetime of the Queen. Glazed doors lead to the living and dining areas. The large dining room is divided by sliding doors. Here is the Queen's favorite fireplace and a comfortable chair in which the general designer liked to relax with a newspaper or magazine in his hands. Here he loved to listen to music. During the days of celebrations and family holidays, colleagues, associates and friends of Sergei Pavlovich gathered in the Korolyovs' house. And of course, astronauts were frequent guests in this house. A wooden staircase will lead the visitor to the second floor. There are many books in the spacious hall, in tall cabinets. There are chairs nearby. The Korolev family has been collecting this library for many years. It has two and a half thousand books. The Queen's reading circle was large and varied. The library contains works of Russian and Soviet classics, classics of foreign literature, poetry publications, memoirs and many reference books. Sergei Pavlovich's favorite book was Leo Tolstoy's novel War and Peace. Korolyov enthusiastically read the works of science fiction writers. The wall of the library is decorated with a relief map of the Moon, presented to the Queen by its compiler. He used the map to prepare programs for exploring the lunar surface. From the hallway, a door leads to the Queen's study. There are many books here too. On the shelves and in the cupboards are the works of the creators of rocketry Zander, Kibalchich, Kondratyuk and, of course, Tsiolkovsky. Korolyov considered him his inspiration. Glazed cabinets contain models of spacecraft, created under the leadership of Sergei Pavlovich. Among the models is the most valuable relic - a model of the first artificial earth satellite, the launch of which began the space era. The museum funds contain about five thousand exhibits: documents and photographs, books and personal belongings, works of fine art. Almost everything the museum has at its disposal has been transferred to N.I. The Queen. She is the main consultant for the museum.
