The Salar Jung National Art Museum, located in the beautiful city of Hyderabad, is the third largest in all of India. This world famous museum has unique exhibits, some of which are thousands of years old.

The former Prime Minister of the Seventh Nizam of Hyderabad - Nevab Mir Yusuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III, who, from - due to his lack of direct heirs, he decided to donate his collection of antiques, which he collected throughout his life, to the private museum Divan Deodi created in his residence, and later it was transferred to Salar Jung. But it is believed that at the moment the museum does not have the entire collection, that some of the values were secretly sold, and some were lost during the move.

Salar Jung opened its doors to visitors in 1951. It is a huge snow-white multi-storey building, divided into three thematic sectors: Eastern, Western and Indian cultures. They, in turn, are subdivided into 38 galleries, located on the first two floors of the building, in which a variety of things are exhibited: sculptures, paintings, textiles, furniture, ceramics, jewelry, coins. In addition to galleries, the museum has a library, a reading room, a chemical laboratory, a shop.

Salar Jung has a rich collection, the number of exhibits of which totals 1 million copies collected around the world. One of the highlights of the museum is the famous Clock Room, which contains clock movements from different countries and different times.

In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum often hosts exhibitions of renowned artists and sculptors.

No wonder the Salad Jung Museum has been declared a National Treasure of India, and is one of the most visited museums in the country.
