Monument to Beaver description and photo - Belarus: Bobruisk. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe monument to Beaver, 1.7 meters high, was erected in the Belarusian city of Bobruisk in 2006. The author of the project was the winner of the competition, sculptor Vladimir Gavrilenko. The installation of the bronze Beaver was timed to coincide with the opening of the Dozhinki festival in Bobruisk. The Republic of Belarus is actively reviving ancient Slavic traditions. The ancient harvest festival has acquired the status of a state one. The conditions of the festival include putting in order and restoration of the city from the central square to the last courtyard. The Bronze Beaver has become the hallmark of Bobruisk. He stands at the intersection of Sotsialisticheskaya and Karl Marx streets, smiling good-naturedly and raising his hat in a welcoming gesture, not at all embarrassed by his imposing belly. The beaver is dressed with the true chic of a wealthy Bobruisk bourgeois of the early 20th century. Vladimir Gavrilenko says that, in order to "dress" his hero, he had to revise many fashion magazines of that time. We also recommend reading Church of St. James (Spitalkirche hl.
