The name in English is Palac Tomasza Zielinskiego. Photo and descriptionThe Tomasz Zielinski Palace is a historic building in the Gothic style, located in the center of the Polish city of Kielc. The complex of buildings with Gothic elements is part of the former bishop's residence. It is currently used as the House of Artists. The palace got its name thanks to Thomas Zielinski, the head of Kielc, a collector and art lover, who from 1847 to 1858 rented the palace building and turned it into a palace and park complex. The palace stands on the territory of the former bishop's estate. Until the 18th century, it housed a laundry, a stable and a riding school. The foundations of former buildings with walls 1.2 meters thick can be seen in the palace today. With the advent of Zelinsky, a great patron of art and culture, the manor became the center of the cultural life of Kielce. Such famous artists as Vojekh Gerson and Jozef Szermentovski spent their evenings in the palace. Zelinsky created a romantic park, renovated the facade of the building in the neo-Renaissance style. After the death of Tomasz Zelinski in 1858, the property passed to his wife Teofila, who sold the palace to Dr. Stefan Luszkievich After 1920, the building passed to the state. In 1972, the Art Club was opened here. Currently, the palace hosts concerts, exhibitions and conferences. There is a hotel, restaurant, library and winter garden on the territory of the palace.
