The Borderlands Museum is located in a picturesque area near the town of Kirkenes. Its exposition is dedicated to the Second World War, Sami culture and the creation of the mining company “Sydvaranger AS”. Several exhibitions introduce visitors to the nature, culture and history of the Sor-Varanger commune bordering Russia.

The museum's exposition dedicated to the Second World War reflects the Norwegians' perception of this event. For example, in neighboring Finland, it is difficult to find exhibits testifying to its cooperation with the Soviet troops. And in the Museum of Frontier Lands, on the contrary, there is a whole panorama of how the Norwegian partisan from the observation post transfers data on the movements of the German fleet to our troops.
