The Catholic Church of the Most Holy Trinity is located at the intersection of two Tobolsk streets: Rosa Luxemburg and Alyabyeva, right below the high hill where the famous Tobolsk Kremlin is located.

In 1847, the construction of a wooden Catholic church began in the cultural center of Western Siberia - the city of Tobolsk. It was the only provincial Roman Catholic church until the beginning of the XX century. In 1893, the then priest Vincent Przhesmykiy received permission from the local authorities to build a stone church. The construction of the Church of the Holy Trinity began in August 1900. The solemn consecration of the Tobolsk temple took place in August 1909 by Bishop Jan Ceplyak.

The Catholic church stood out with three towers. The church is built in the neo-Gothic style with the main nave and side where the chapel and the sacristy are located. From 1907 to 1911, a school for Polish children operated at the church. After the revolutionary events of 1917, hard times began for the Tobolsk Church, as well as for many other Catholic churches in Russia.

In May 1923, the Catholic Church was closed. Initially, its premises were planned to be used as a gym. Since the 1930s. the dilapidated temple was used as a warehouse and for social and "cultural" needs. In the 40s. a dining room was located in the building of the temple, and from 1950 to the beginning of the 90s. - film distribution office.

In 1993, after the signing of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on the return of religious buildings to believers, the Church of the Holy Trinity was returned to the parish, which was engaged in its restoration. The first Mass in the returned church took place on October 15, 1995. In August 2000, Bishop Joseph consecrated the church for the second time. In March 2004, thanks to funds donated from Germany, an organ was set up in a Catholic church, and in July of the same year the first organ music concert was held here.
