Ari Atoll (also known as Alif or Alufu) belongs to the Maldives. It is one of the largest natural formations located in the west of the archipelago. Almost perpendicular to its geometry, it has a total area of about 89 by 3 km and is divided into two administrative sections - North and South, consisting of 105 islands. Ari Reef is part of the tourist area of the Maldives, located about 30 minutes by seaplane from Male.
