House-Museum of N.A. Ostrovsky is located in the city of Novorossiysk on Sovetov Street. In this house, which belonged to his distant relatives, the famous writer Nikolai Alekseevich Ostrovsky lived two of the most difficult years of his life. Once completely bedridden, he diligently engaged in self-education. It was in this house that the writer found his happiness. Raya Matsyuk - the daughter of the owner, became not only his faithful friend, but also his wife. During the Great Patriotic War & nbsp; this small house was destroyed. & nbsp; After some time, the house was restored on the previous foundation, after which it was given to the employees of the car repair plant for housing.

In 1977, the city executive committee decided to open N. Ostrovsky literary and memorial department of the museum. It took the museum scientists several years to restore the original appearance of the house. R.P. Ostrovskaya, who came to Novorossiysk in 1981, rendered great help in this difficult matter.
