Mastichari is a picturesque port town on the northwestern coast of the Greek island of Kos. The settlement is located about 22 km west of the capital of the island of the same name and only 6 km from the airport.

Today Mastichari is one of the most popular resorts on the island of Kos and has a well-developed tourist infrastructure. Here you will find many good hotels, comfortable apartments and rooms for rent, shops, mini markets, as well as an abundance of excellent taverns and restaurants serving a wide range of fresh fish and seafood dishes.

Magnificent sandy beach Mastichari is well organized and is considered to be one of the best on the island. Fans of active recreation can enjoy various water sports here. Mastichari is especially popular with fans of windsurfing. Beginners in this sport can use the services of a professional instructor and rent all the necessary equipment. Not far from Mastichari there is an excellent water park.

Among the sights of Mastichari, one can note the ruins of an early Christian basilica with a beautiful mosaic floor (a short walk from the sea). The picturesque settlement of Antimachia with old windmills and an impressive Venetian fortress is also worth a visit. Of particular interest are also the Church of St. Paraskeva from the 18th century, the Church of St. Nicholas from the 16th century and the so-called "Traditional House of Antimachia" - a museum that perfectly illustrates the life and culture of the region in the 20th century.
