Carantuill is a mountain in the southwestern part of Ireland (County Kerry, Munster province), part of the McGillicaddis Ricks mountain range. Mount Carantville is 1,038 m (3,406 ft) high and is the highest peak in the island of Ireland. Mount Carantuille is classified as "Furth" by the Scottish Mountaineering Club.

Mount Carantuill is very popular with mountain trekking fans. It is worth noting that the slopes of Mount Carantuill (as, indeed, the entire McGillicaddis Rix range) are composed mainly of sandstone and are heavily indented during erosion and glacial processes, as a result of which taluses and landslides are often observed here. However, Carantuill is not classified as a dangerous mountain, and special climbing equipment is not required to climb this mountain. however, excessive caution and attentiveness still will not hurt (you should not go on an independent trip to Carantuill and beginners of mountain trekking).

At the top of the mountain you will see a huge metal cross, which is 5 meters high. The cross was first installed here back in 1976, but in November 2014 it was demolished by vandals, however, a few weeks later the cross was erected in its place.
