Villanova is one of the quarters of the Sardinian city of Cagliari, located outside the historic center, but no less interesting. This and the neighboring quarters were designed and built after the Second World War, but here you can also find cultural and architectural monuments that have become popular tourist attractions and enjoy the colorful landscapes.

In the town of San Lucifero there is a church of the same name, and nearby you can see the early Christian Basilica of San Saturnino - one of the oldest temples in Sardinia. The snow-white church of Nostra Signora di Bonaria with a monastery attracts attention - its name recalls medieval legends about shipwrecks and miracles that happened after the happy discovery of the icon depicting the Virgin Mary. In the castle of San Michele and on a hill whose territory will soon be converted into an archaeological park, the history of Cagliari is closely intertwined with the dramatic stories of the aristocrats who once lived here.
