Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe courtyard of the Trinity Stefano-Ulyanovsk monastery is located in the city of Syktyvkar on Babushkina street, 20. The building was built in 1882-1889. It is a monument of history and culture, protected by the state. Information about this can be found on a plaque installed on the building in 2006. According to legend, the formation of the monastery is associated with the activities of St. Stephen, Bishop of Perm (late 14th century). Information about the time at which it was founded has not survived, but it is known that in the 60th year of the XIX century in the village of Ulyanovo, Ust-Sysolsk district, the work of the Trinity Stefano-Ulyanovsk monastery was resumed. The first construction of the Courtyard of the restored Trinity Stefano-Ulyanovsk monastery in the district town of Ust-Sysolsk (now the city of Syktyvkar) was donated in 1866 by the merchant widow Sidorova. It was a 2-storey log house, sheathed in planks, typical of wealthy townspeople. A wooden Stefanovsky temple was built in 1877 near the Podvorye building at the corner of Sukhanovskaya (modern Babushkina street) and Troitskaya (modern Lenin street) streets. In 1882, 20 meters south-west of it, along the red line of Sukhanovskaya Street, the construction of a stone courtyard building was begun, which was completed with finishing work in 1889. The building was adapted for the needs of the Ulyanovsk monks who lived in the city and the pilgrims to the Ulyanovsk monastery. After the abolition of the monastery and the nationalization of the building, various Soviet organizations appeared in it: a folklore theater, a choreographic school. In 1996, the courtyard building was transferred for use, and in 2000 - into the property of the Syktyvkar and Vorkuta Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (ROC MP), established a year earlier. Today, it houses the Diocesan Administration of the Russian Orthodox Church MP, the Nativity of Christ home church and the Compound of the Ulyanovsk Trinity-Stefanovsk Monastery. In 2008, the reconstruction of the building began. This became possible thanks to funds allocated from the budget of the Komi Republic. and in 2000 - into the property of the Syktyvkar and Vorkuta Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (ROC MP), established a year earlier.
