Photo and description

Emas National Park is located in the central part of the Highland Savannah, in the state of Goias, Brazil. It has existed as a conservation area since 1961, and in 2001 UNESCO included it in the World Heritage List. The climate here is tropical, humid and moderately hot summers, and cold winters.

Emas is rich in flora typical for wooded savannahs. Here you can find the round crowns of the tallest in the world babasu palm trees, which reach up to 75 meters in height.

It was the Savanna Emasa that helped many species of living organisms survive during climate change. Currently, the reserve has an amazingly rich fauna. Among the representatives of large animals, one can note a large anteater, a maned wolf and an armadillo - the only animal that wears a shell. There are also quite a few large foxes, Brazilian porcupines, jaguars, bush dogs, ocelots and tamarins in the park.

For nature lovers, there are a large number of ecological tours in Emas. Tour times vary from several hours to several days. Tourists are offered fishing, safari, hunting, boat, hiking and horseback riding. For nature lovers there is an opportunity to stay in the reserve.
