In 2008, during the Congress of the Council of Europe in Penza, it was decided to name the suspension structure - a meeting place for initiative youth - the Bridge of Friendship. Today the embankment and suspension bridge are one of the most beautiful places in Penza, a meeting place for lovers , newlyweds and photographers. On the bridge they make dates and meet friends retirees and young parents with children breathe fresh air, admire the panoramic beauties opening from the bridge, local residents and guests of the city. In the dark, the lighting of the bridge and the surrounding area is turned on, turning part of the city near the Sura River into a fabulously beautiful place. In the warm months, summer cafes are open on the embankment, and river tram and speedboat walks are organized. On holidays, fireworks and salutes are fired over the Sura, reflected in the river and making them unusually bright and spectacular. On such days, the suspension bridge is especially crowded.
