The Salmon Museum, opened in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in 2004, is the only one in Russia. The exhibits and expositions of the museum tell about the biodiversity of the salmon family of Kamchatka, the geography and habitat of Pacific salmon, about the peculiarities of fish biology, about the methods of reproduction: artificial and natural, the history of the development of fishing, environmental measures, about the methods of cooking salmon from the Neolithic to the III millennium.

The poster materials are supplemented with voluminous exhibits. The section of the exposition "Trophic connections" tells about the place of salmon in the ecosystem of the North. The section "Conservation traditions of the aborigines of Kamchatka" tells about the ancient connection of this fish family and the indigenous population of Kamchatka, its place in the life of Kamchadals.
