It took shape in the 18th - first half of the 19th centuries. Until 1917, the estate belonged to the Russian imperial family. Its first owner was Peter the Great, at the end of the 18th century Strelna became a private grand ducal possession - in 1797 Pavel I presented it to his second son, Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich, thanks to which the large palace and park received a name that has survived to this day. The architectural dominant of the complex - the palace itself - began to be built according to the project of N. Miketti in 1720. In the 1750s, it was completed by the architect B. Rastrelli and renovated in 1847-1851. During the Great Patriotic War, the palace and park ensemble in Strelna was almost completely destroyed, only a stone frame remained from the palace building. Until recently, the complex was in this state. The revival of the monument began in 2000 in connection with preparations for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
