Brenzone is a small resort town located on the shores of Lake Garda, just 46 km from Verona. It is said that its name comes from the surname Brenzoni. The city is spread over an area of 50 sq. Km. - it smoothly "creeps" up from the shores of the lake to the top of the Chima Telegrafo peak (2200 meters). Today it is home to about 2.5 thousand people. In addition, administratively, Brenzone also includes several even smaller settlements lying on the slopes of Monte Baldo - Marniga, Prada, Castello, Castelletto, Magugnano, Porto and Assenza. The mild climate is conducive to the fact that olives, cork oaks, cypresses, almonds and oleander grow here. And it is just off the coast of Brenzone that Lake Garda reaches its deepest point - 350 meters.

The earliest archaeological finds on the territory of modern Brenzone date back to the Bronze Age - these are rock paintings near Castelletto. Later, the Romans lived here, whose presence is noticeable in the historical center of Magugnano with its early Christian church of San Zeno, one of the oldest churches of Lake Garda. In the 10th century, a fortress was built on the islet of Trimelone, lying in front of Brenzone, destroyed by Frederick Barbarossa in 1158 and subsequently rebuilt by the Scaligers. For a long time it served as an ammunition depot, but today it lies in ruins.

In Castelletto, it is worth visiting the Church of San Zen de l'Ozelet, and in Biaz - the Church of Sant Antonio, built in the era of the Roman Empire. Noteworthy are the frescoes in the church of San Nicola in Assenza and the temple in Castello, which houses the icon of Our Lady, considered miraculous. It is definitely worth visiting the wonderful historic centers of the many settlements that make up Brenzone, with their souvenir shops and delightful restaurants.

On the slopes of Monte Baldo, there are several climbing shelters, such as Rifugio Kirego, which stands at an altitude of 1910 meters, or Rifugio Telegrafo, which rises at an elevation of 2200 meters. In winter, the Malcesine ski slopes are just a few kilometers away. In Brenzone itself, you can go hiking or Nordic walking.

In summer, the city has all the conditions for windsurfing and sailing - this is facilitated by the calm waters of Lake Garda and light breezes. Diving, water skiing and fishing are also popular. Fans of extreme sports will find the steep slopes of Monte Baldo with routes of different difficulty levels, rafting and canoeing. Horseback riding and tennis or golf are perfect for a relaxing holiday.
