Photo and description

The city parks of Riccione are real oases of rest and relaxation in a small resort town. One of the most beautiful is the Montanari Park, spread over an area of 6 thousand square meters. Various conditions for sports have been created on this territory - there are rollerdromes, skate rinks and treadmills. The main gate of the park, located in the heart of Riccione next to Piazzale Curiel, is decorated with mosaics depicting the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Park "La Perla" - Pearl - covers an area of 480 sq.m. It is this park that is the symbol of Riccione - the city that is called the "Green Pearl" of the Adriatic. On its territory there are several architectural elements related to the history and characteristics of Riccione. There is a relief fountain inside the park, resembling the movement of sea waves, in the center of which there is a huge shell. You can enjoy this sculptural composition while walking along Viale Dante lane or sitting on one of La Perla's benches.

Park "Parco della Resistenza" - Resistance - was created in the 1970s. Once the land on which it is located was a farmland where grapes were grown. The various small hills that exist today in the park were created during the construction of an artificial lake, which stretches over an area of 900 square meters. Here, a small bridge with a railing and a dam were built using roof tiles from an old ruined farmhouse. The total area of Parco della Resistenza is about 110 thousand square meters, which house a huge number of trees - oaks, pines, elms, maples, laurels, cedars and poplars. In addition, unusual trees such as ginkgo biloba and a huge sequoia can be found here. The lake is planted with aquatic plant species. There are several recreation areas for children and adults scattered throughout the park. And in its southeastern part there is a football stadium.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the park of Pope John Paul II, which occupies an area of 12 thousand square meters. It is crossed by small paths and planted with cedars, horse chestnuts and yews. It was recently refurbished as part of the historic Villa Lodi Fee.
