The Polim Museum is one of the attractions of the city of Berane, which is located in the north-east of the country. The exhibits presented in the museum were found during various archaeological excavations. It is known that this area was occupied by settlers as early as 2300-1800 BC, in the so-called Bronze Age. This fact explains the variety of exhibits.

The exhibits of the museum reflect different eras, clearly showing their change. The Neolithic is represented by simple pottery, decorated with ornaments and simple patterns. More recent archaeological finds include arrowheads, women's jewelry, copper and ceramic dishes. Since Montenegro was for a long time under the influence of the Greek and Roman conquerors, the result was that that ancient culture left a tangible mark on the history of this country.

In the Byzantine period, that is, around the VI century. AD ancient traditions continue to exist, but in a simplified form. In the VII century. AD the territories of modern Montenegro began to be mastered by the Slavs. This period is represented by such archaeological exhibits as: architectural fragments with carved decor, stone frescoes and household items.

All new archaeological items and artifacts that can be found during excavations near Berane are transferred to the possession of the Polim Museum.
