The National Glyptotek of Greece is a famous museum of modern sculpture in the city of Athens. Until 2004, the Glyptotek's treasures were displayed at the National Gallery and were part of its impressive collection. In 2004, at the initiative of the gallery director, art history professor Marina Lambraki-Plaka, a new administrative unit was created - the National Glyptotek, home to which were two old buildings in Alsos Stratu (Military Park, Gudi district), which once housed the royal stables and the surrounding area.

The National Glyptotek in Athens is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the sculpture of Greek masters of the 19th - 21st centuries in all its diversity - this is the so-called "folk sculpture", neoclassical sculpture, works in the style modernism, postmodernism and abstractionism, as well as sculpture in the style of pop art. Among the most interesting exhibits of the glyptotek, it is worth noting the works of one of the most iconic and talented sculptors of modern Greece, Yannoulis Khalepas, presented in a separate exhibition - "Satyr playing with Eros" (1877), "Head of a Satyr" (1878), "Hermes, Pegasus and Aphrodite" ( 1933), "Saint Barbara and Hermes" (1925) and much more. However, the "Windmill" by Hatsiantonis Lutras (1837), "Georgios Karaskakis" by Konstantinos Papadimitriou (1829), "Bust of Plato" (1815) by Pavlos Prosalentis Elder Sr., "Penelope" by Drossis Leonidas (1873) also deserve special attention. d.)
