Oslo City Museum, located in the Vigeland Sculpture Park, was built in 1905. under the strict guidance of the Norwegian architect Fritz Holland. The museum occupies the premises of an 18th century mansion, in which historical interiors are partially preserved.

The museum complex hosts the Oslo City Museum, the Theater Museum and the Oslo Intercultural Museum. The exposition reproduces the image of the thousand-year history of the city, presents an impressive collection of paintings and other works art.

The museum houses the largest library in the country, which has collected documentary historical materials about the development of the city of Oslo, in particular the Aker municipality.

Moreover, the museum presents a fifteen-minute documentary film about Oslo history in English.
