Spaso-Preobrazhensky Trigorsky Monastery is located in the Zhytomyr region in the village of Trigorie. The exact date of the founding of the Trigorsk male Orthodox monastery is unknown, it is assumed that it was 1575. The founder of the monastery was Prince Vladimir Zhitomirsky. For the shrine, the prince chose a secluded place on the high bank of the Teterev River in the middle of a dense oak forest.

The first written mention of the monastery dates back to 1613. However, there are historical data that indicate its more ancient origin. According to the monastic data, the Trigorsky Monastery was built by Abbot Kirill with funds donated by the landowners Theodore and Nikolai Alexandrovich Voronichs. In terms of its importance, the monastery was in second place after the Pochaev monastery.

Until 1723, the Trigorsk monastery was considered Orthodox, until it accepted the union. Finally, the Uniatism in this monastery settled from the end of the XVIII century. The monastery returned to Orthodoxy in 1839. At the monastery there was a hotel for pilgrims and pilgrims, and since 1883 - a parish school.

During the First World War, the evacuated Spiritual Cathedral of the Pochaev Lavra was located in the monastery and governor. With the advent of Soviet power, the monastery was first closed and then liquidated. During the Great Patriotic War, the monastery Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior was opened as a parish.

The revival of the monastery began in 1990-1993. Its main shrine is the miraculous Trigorskaya Icon of the Mother of God, which in its style of writing belongs to the XVIII century. In addition, particles of the relics of the Monk Pechersk Martyrs are kept here.
