Luza Castle is located 3 kilometers from the city of Lausan, which is located in the Coimbra district. A more correct name for the castle is Arose Castle. This name comes from the village of Arose, abandoned by the inhabitants around 1513.

Legend has it that King Arose fled from the barbarians, led by Prince Lusush, who occupied the city of Konimbriga, and found refuge in this village, where his secret refuge, Arose Castle, was located.
