Photo and description

On the edge of the hill in the oldest part of Kashin - the Kremlin, surrounded by the remains of ramparts, stands the majestic Resurrection Cathedral, built over the years 1796-1867. This is one of the most grandiose cathedrals in Tver land, not inferior to the capital's buildings.

The composition of the church consists of an apse, the actual temple with a solemn five domes. a refectory and a three-tiered bell tower with a clock (over 70m high). The facades of the temple are decorated with six-column porticos of the Tuscan order with pediments, the corners are fixed with pilasters, the surface of the walls is treated with shallow panels. The drums of the light heads have an eightfold shape, very close to the temples with an eightfold ending so widespread in Kashin. The refectory with a bell tower, built in the middle of the 19th century, gave the building eclectic features.
