The temple was built in the 15th century, but numerous fires forced local architects to regularly restore the shrine. The building that appears to the guests of Bordeaux today is the final version of the 19th century reconstruction. Since that period, only the stained glass windows that were lost during the fighting of World War II have been replaced. Now the basilica is open for sightseeing, and those who wish can go down to the crypt to get acquainted with the local burial place of clergy. Bordeaux has its own Bolshoi Theater. The neoclassical construction was completed by 1746, and the townspeople were given the opportunity to visit the luxurious building, which hosted the best performances and operas of our time. Despite more than 200 years of history, the Bolshoi Theater of Bordeaux continues to keep pace with the times. Absolutely all technical equipment here meets international standards. Slightly away from the city center are located ruins of Antique amphitheater. None of the historians can name the exact date of the construction of the amphitheater, but most experts agree that it was erected in the last century of the Roman Empire. It is documented that the Germans set fire to the amphitheater in the 3rd century, and since then began its slow destruction. The ruins of the once majestic building were added to the historical monuments only in the middle of the 19th century. The main building in the Baroque style in the historic center of Bordeaux is the Church of Our Lady, the brightest of the buildings in the city after the Cathedral of St. Andrew ... The temple was consecrated in 1707, and many trials fell to its share. During the Great Revolution, they tried to make a university building out of the church, but by the time Napoleon ascended the French throne in 1804, the temple was given to believers.
