Croatian National Theater in Croatia, Zagreb resort

The theater building was built in 1895 at the initiative of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The architects who designed the building are Fellner and Helmer. The theater was built in the neo-baroque and rococo styles. This is a rectangular building painted in yellow, which has two small domes on the side of the facade and one large dome on the back. The interior of the theater is richly decorated with paintings by famous Croatian artists, including the painting by Ivan Mestrovic"The Spring of Life". The Croatian National Theater hosts ballet and opera performances, drama performances. Many Croatian directors and artists began their careers from the stage of this theater. Also famous world stars appeared on this stage, for example, Sarah Bernhardt, Richard Strauss, Peter Brook and others. In front of the theater there is a magnificent fountain and a square with beautiful flower beds.
