This Byzantine church was built in the 11th century. It became the main cathedral of the Johannites on the island of Rhodes. Later, the Turks converted the cathedral into the Enderum Mosque, or, as it was called here, the Red Mosque.
Now the building houses a museum. Its exposition includes frescoes and icons. You should definitely see the frescoes from the abandoned old church of Agios Zacharios on the islet of Halki, as well as the amazing examples of painting from the 12th century from the Tarri monastery.
