Photo & Description

On a 29-hectare site about 15 minutes' drive from Pattaya, a popular recreation site, the Ancient Stone Park, was opened in 1992.

It was organized by a wealthy businessman Hun Xuan Phanomwattanakul, who came up with an unusual hobby - he began to collect fossil remains of trees and huge boulders of bizarre shapes. The stones were brought from different parts of the country. Sometimes they were found on construction sites when laying the foundation, but more often they were accidentally found in the jungle. The age of most of the stones is amazing: it can be assumed that dinosaurs touched these boulders. All copies of the Phanomwattanakul collection were transported to the territory of a specially created park for this purpose. Some stones initially resembled animals and birds in their shape, others were worked on by sculptors, giving them a memorable shape. Now in the park, on separate sites, you can see a stone turtle, strange plants, mythological heroes, etc.

Another popular attraction of the park is a crocodile farm, where hundreds of toothy reptiles are kept, bred, and also entertain the audience ... For a fee, the crocodile can be fed. A piece of meat is attached to a stick that looks like a fishing rod, and a crocodile is treated to it.

There is a zoo in the park, where tigers, elephants, bears, giraffes and many other exotic animals are kept. Visitors take part in their feeding, take pictures of the animals they like, that is, they make every possible contact with them, which is actively encouraged by the zoo keepers.
