The Korvemaa Landscape Reserve is famous for its picturesque landscapes, amazing nature and a variety of flora and fauna. This area is located on the northern coast of Estonia. Traveling and relaxing here is a great opportunity to enjoy the magnificent Estonian nature. This is the best place for those who like long walks and camping.

The Korvemaa karst region is an interesting place to see during the dry summer months. There are deep and deserted river beds and underground caves filled with water. In most cases, tourists come to Korvemaa to enjoy the unique landscapes of valleys, hills, lakes and bogs. The characteristic features of the Korvemaa landscape are glacial deposits and lacustrine-glacial plains, which are often covered with swamps, and, to a lesser extent, bogs. According to legend, when the giant Kalevipoeg plowed the field, wolves attacked him and killed his white horse. The horse's grave is now called Valgemagi Hill (White Mountain). And the local hilly landscape is an unplowed field. Valgemagi hill is the highest place in the reserve, its height is equal to 107 meters above sea level. An observation tower has been built on the top of the hill, from which you can see the entire territory of Korvemaa at once. A magnificent view will appear before you in the autumn season, when a wide variety of autumn colors will spread out in front of you.

There are more than a hundred lakes in the reserve, some of which are completely wild, and there are those which are looked after by local governments. The Soodla River is loved and visited by fishermen, and the forests around Paunkula are a mushroom picking paradise, where you can collect a large number of porcini mushrooms, milk mushrooms and chanterelles.

Beaver dams are often found on the Valgejogi River, and you can also take canoes or rent a kayak and travel along the river. For beginners, of course, an easier route is suitable, while more experienced rowers can choose a 2-3-day route, reaching the sea at the end of the journey.

About 23 species of different orchids are found in the reserve. The rare species of birds that come here to breed are the golden eagle, black stork, and lesser spotted eagle. In autumn, many photographers come here to make beautiful shots, to catch an animal in the lens.
