The house-museum of Boris Mikhailovich Kustodiev, a famous Russian artist, an Astrakhan by birth, was opened in spring 2002. It is located in a small mansion in which at the end of the century some members of the Kustodiev family lived.

The House-Museum contains authentic things that belonged to the artist - a palette, a sketchbook, brushes, documents about the Kustodiev family, photographs old Astrakhan and many other items that create the atmosphere of Astrakhan at the beginning of the 20th century.

Most of the exposition is, of course, given to the master's works, and although the Astrakhan collection of Kustodiev's works is not very large, it includes both paintings and graphic works, sketches of theatrical scenery, book illustrations, sculptures and examples of applied art, reflecting his diverse artistic searches. One room is dedicated to the work of P.A. Vlasov, the first teacher of the artist - a graduate of the St. Petersburg Academy of Painting.
